We started out using our large tent so all of us could sleep in it, but with long travel days, we quickly switched to using our small backpacking tent for the humans and letting the dogs sleep in the car. This was our first trip and we towed a trailer behind our car on this trip. It was a great learning experience, not only about our country, history, national parks, and other attractions, but also to learn what we needed and didn’t need and the best way for all of us to travel.
